Mehdi is Design Manager at Form + Function Studio, with a PhD in Architecture and Urban Planning and over 15 years of international experience spanning the UK and abroad. His career bridges academia and professional practice, giving him a unique ability to combine evidence-based research with creative, human-centred design.

He has led projects across diverse sectors, from cultural and commercial projects to large-scale healthcare and residential developments, always balancing visionary ideas with technical and environmental rigour. His design philosophy is rooted in sustainability, wellbeing, and contextual sensitivity, ensuring that each project enhances both its immediate environment and the lives of those who use it.

At Form + Function Studio, Mehdi provides strategic design leadership, guiding projects from concept through delivery. He mentors and manages teams, streamlines design processes, and ensures the studio’s work reflects the highest standards of innovation, quality, and design excellence.

Alongside practice, Mehdi is an active researcher and has presented internationally on topics such as child-friendly cities and the psychological impact of design, contributing thought leadership to the wider architectural community.
